What Price Paradise?

Whilst compiling a selection 80’s music for a recent party, I came across one of my old favourites, “What Price Paradise? – China Crisis – 1985”. I love this album!

I especially love the title …. What is the price of paradise? …. What is paradise? Perhaps a tropical island in the sun or a mountain hideaway, open fire, leopard skin rug, or simply having more family time.

Oh, if only we had the time and money to create such a paradise! Here’s a thought, what if you could create your slice of paradise by trading money for time?

To a certain degree we can control much money earn but can’t control how much time we have, so we find ways to buy time such as:

* Hiring a cleaner who saves us time on Saturday’s when you rather sleep in take the kids to sport.

* Order your groceries on line to save us time queuing in the supermarket.

* Having a mobile dog washer look after the pooch.

* Employ a gardener to save hours each Sunday.

* Having your newspaper delivered so you don’t have to race out to the corner store every day.

* Going out for dinner instead of spending time preparing meals.

* Taking your car to the carwash so you can spend time reading the paper instead.

* Even hire a personal shopper to create your new seasons wardrobe!

* And don’t we all wish we had the Poolman from Desperate Housewives!

* There are so many ways to create your little piece of paradise - have a look at some ways we can help!

…. And the list goes on.

So it boils down to how much we value our time, what value we place on it and how creative we can be in finding news ways in reclaiming it more of it for ourselves.

What Price is YOUR Paradise?

Hmm back to the 80’s party …. am I the only person on the planet who remembers Blancmange “Living on the Ceiling”?
