Gorgeous old cultery that's too tarnished to use but too lovely to throw out can be recycled into handy hooks. Drill the holes first, then use pliers to shape thin, plain handles around a dowel rod. Heavier, more ornate forks will need to be secured in a vice and gently hammered using a rubber mallet to avoid damage to the cutlery. (If you use a metal hammer, cover it with a cloth before setting to work.) Attach forks to the wall with nails or screws.
