Thanks to the inspirational team at Better Homes & Gardens for this fantastic idea (August 2009).
As a professional organiser I find myself in children's toy rooms/bedrooms quite often - one of the many things we come across is crayons, when I read this article in teh Better Homes & Garden's Magazine recently I thought I just had to share it with you all.
"While we're on the subject of love, here's a clever recycling idea for the kids - turning broken crayons into hears or other fun shapes. First, snap the crayons into small pieces, about 1cm long, and sort into colour groups. Fill a microwave-safe silicone muffin or biscuit mount with crayon pieces. Set the microwave on HIGH and "cook" with crayons for about five minutes, or until the wax is melted. When cool bend the mould so the crayons pop out."
